Bespoke Furniture Built for Beaulieu-sur-Mer Apartments
Many Beaulieu-sur-Mer apartments, especially in Vieux Beaulieu-sur-Mer and Carré d'Or, have sloped ceilings, narrow hallways or awkward alcoves that off-the-shelf furniture can't fit. Local carpenters measure on site and design wardrobes, banquettes or storage units that use every centimetre efficiently. This is especially valuable for rénovation projects in older buildings near Cours Saleya, where original mouldings and uneven walls require hand-fitted solutions rather than flat-pack alternatives.
Materials Suited to the Mediterranean Climate
Salt air and humidity along the Promenade des Anglais and in Mont Boron villas can warp cheap particleboard within a few years. Experienced carpenters here favour solid oak, marine-grade plywood, or lacquered MDF with moisture-resistant finishes for bathroom and coastal-facing furniture. For outdoor-adjacent pieces like loggia cabinets, teak or treated iroko is common, giving durability without the swelling or cracking seen with untreated softwoods in this region.
From Design Sketch to Installation
A typical project starts with an on-site visit and 3D sketch, followed by material selection and a signed devis before any cutting begins. Workshops around Saint-Roch or La Trinité fabricate pieces over one to three weeks, then deliver and install, adjusting hinges and fittings on site. Clients doing a full rénovation in Cimiez or Fabron often coordinate furniture timing with painters and electricians so wardrobes and shelving go in last, avoiding damage during other trades' work.
Pricing for Custom Furniture in Beaulieu-sur-Mer
A built-in wardrobe typically runs €1,200 to €3,500 depending on size and finish, while a full kitchen cabinetry set ranges €4,000 to €12,000. Simple bookshelves or TV units cost €800 to €2,500, and bespoke banquette seating with storage starts around €1,500. Prices rise for solid wood over veneer, and for complex fitted units in older Vieux Beaulieu-sur-Mer buildings where irregular walls add fabrication time.

Yes, this is a routine request for local carpenters, who take precise on-site measurements and build each panel to match the actual angle rather than a standard template. It's one of the main reasons clients choose custom over flat-pack furniture here.
Solid oak and marine-grade plywood with sealed finishes perform well, especially in bathrooms or rooms facing the sea. Avoid untreated particleboard near windows facing the Promenade, as salt-laden air accelerates swelling and delamination.
